In an historic election, Claude Cummings Jr. was elected as president of the Communications Workers of America by delegates to the union’s 79th convention and Ameenah Salaam was elected Secretary-Treasurer. Cummings is the first Black man elected as CWA President.

Our CWA Bargaining Team has continued to meet with the State to try to reach a tentative agreement before our current contract expiration of June 30th. CWA has met with the State for 20 sessions, including several sessions throughout late May and early June.

The Communications Workers of America have endorsed the re-election of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

Since Gov. Christie forced legislation in 2011 freezing COLAs on retired public worker pension benefits, our CWA retirees have fought to restore them.
