CWA 1036 Announcement on Telework Rule Approval

We are pleased to report that the Civil Service Commission approved the Telework Rule at a special meeting on October 1.

The rule will now be published and become part of civil service regulations.

The next step under the adopted rule is for appointing authorities to submit telework plans to the Commission before the end of the year. Local 1036 actively engage with departmental leadership on those plans to maintain telework where it is working and to address issues where we have them.

For all members who care deeply about telework and mobilized in the past several months to push for this rule adoption — thank you. Your solidarity and perseverance won the day.

However, as we all know, good regulation and good laws can come under attack and we have to fight to defend them.

If you care about telework, among lots of other issues, CWA 1036 is asking you to take three more actions to continue to defend this hard-won victory on telework

  1. Make sure you, your family, and your coworkers are registered to vote. Deadline to register is October 14. It’s easy and you can register to vote online.
  2. Sign up for vote by mail or consider early voting in person. Return your VBM ballot as soon as you get it. You can return it at a drop box and you can even track your ballot to make sure it is processed.
  3. Vote on Election Day, November 4! Polls are open 6:00AM to 8:00PM. Find your polling location
