State Workers Mobilize for Telework
CWA Local 1036 stewards, activists and members delivered banners with petition signatures in support of a permanent telework rule.
Local 1036 collected just under 3,000 signatures from our members who work for the State of New Jersey in the Departments of Human Services, Environmental Protection, Health, Agriculture, and the I-Bank.
These members join thousands of other CWA members in other Locals and state departments in the fight for making telework a part of civil service regulations.
We delivered petitions to the Commissioners and Chiefs of Staff of the DHS, DEP and DOH. During these visits, members spoke to DHS Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner/Chief of Staff, DEP Chief of Staff, DOH Chief of Staff, and DOH Deputy Commissioner.
The collection of signatures is just another action in our campaign to ramp up the momentum on the Civil Service Commission rule making process and our fight for the codification of a permanent telework policy. Stay tuned for next steps!
