Carey H. Brown is a career public service professional who currently serves on the Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERS) Board of Trustees as your incumbent State Representative.
Carey has consistently answered the call to help his fellow public workers throughout his life. Whether as a Case Worker in Union County Social Services where he was also the shop steward for his CWA Local 1080 family, an Investigator with the Division of Taxation where he also was a shop steward for Local 1037, or in his current position of Professor at Kean University in the Public Administration Dept where he also is a delegate to the Council of New Jersey State College Locals AFT, AFL-CIO and sits on the Executive Council of the Kean Federation of Teachers, AFT Local 2187, Carey is a consistent advocate for public workers.
