Happy International Women's Day

08 Mar, 2023

A MESSAGE FROM THE CWA LOCAL 1036 WOMEN'S COMMITTEE

March 8th is International Women’s Day!

IWD2023

Each year, on March 8th, International Women’s Day is observed as a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. This day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality.  This year’s theme is Embrace Equity.

For IWD and beyond, let’s all fully #EmbraceEquity.

Equity isn’t just a nice-to-have, it’s a MUST have.  A focus on gender equity needs to be part of every society’s DNA.  And, it’s critical to understand the difference between equity and equality.

The aim of the IWD #EmbraceEquity campaign theme is to get the world talking about WHY equal opportunities aren't enough. People start from different places, so true inclusion and belonging require equitable action.

Within CWA Local 1036, we strive to bring inclusion and equity to ALL members and their workplaces through strong contract negotiations and solid representation.

So today, please stand with us as we EMBRACE EQUITY and celebrate International Women’s Day 2023.  See the link below to utilize social media cards.
