Hunterdon County Unit Contract Ratification Underway

CWA is proud to announce that we have reached a Tentative Agreement (TA) with the County for a new contract covering Rank and File and Supervisory members. The proposed Agreement covers January 1, 2026, through December 31, 2028.

To be clear, any success and power we have at the bargaining table is based on membership solidarity, patience, and strength. Together, we fought for a strong contract, and this tentative agreement has significant gains for members in every part of CWA’s membership. Since last year, our membership has been unified in dealing with raises and healthcare, and this Agreement delivers on those goals now while setting a foundation for continued work in those areas.

This TA provides 4% raises each year for three years and is fully retroactive to 1/1/2026 for active employees. It establishes a joint labor-management committee to work on health insurance so we can stabilize what’s been going on with our insurance costs. The joint committee gives both CWA and the County improved access to information and ways to reduce costs for both sides. The TA also incorporates sidebar agreements for our current healthcare, for Public Safety Telecommunicators, and other groups into the contract.

A full summary of terms was sent to members in good standing and will be presented at explanation meetings being held in person and on Zoom.  Please try to attend an explanation meeting to hear more and ask any questions you may have.

Members in good standing will receive a text message and/or email with a secure, unique ID link to cast their ballot online. When a member touches that link, they will go to a website to cast their vote and confirm their vote. Emails and texts will be sent to the email or cell number that the member has on file with the County. Votes are confidential.
