CWA has been fighting for solutions that reduce costs for everyone - workers, taxpayers, and government budgets.
Our fight is far from over.

RSVP here: CWA Member Town Hall: Wednesday, July 16 @ 7pm

Governor Murphy cost-shifted $100 million in SHBP program reductions onto the backs of public employees in the fiscal year 2026 state budget. We fought hard, but the Governor stonewalled alternatives and demanded a budget that included these reductions. The budget sets up a process to achieve these reductions starting January 2026.

On top of this, the State announced anticipated SHBP premium increases of 19% for state employees and 37% for local government employees in the SHBP.

Due to CWA STRONG membership mobilization in June, we have won a ton of legislative support and power on our side, and we have a plan to fix this disastrous budget and rate hikes. We want to make sure that you're up to speed on what these rate change proposals mean, what CWA's plan is to put a stop to it, and what you can do to get involved and help us win.

We’re keeping the pressure on—and we want to make sure that you’re fully informed about where our campaign for affordable healthcare in New Jersey currently stands.

Join us on Wednesday, July 16 for a CWA Member Town Hall to hear more about break developments impacting our healthcare costs, and what CWA is doing to put a stop to it.

And after you register for the Town Hall...

Check out this piece on NJ Spotlight News yesterday featuring Billy Gallagher, CWA District 1 Assistant to the Vice President, addressing the rate hikes and the impact on our members.
