Local committees enhance democratic membership input and participation.
Committees are comprised of volunteers from shop stewards training, worksite meetings, and direct contact with the Local. Committees are appointed by the Executive Board.

Civil Rights and Equity Committee
The Civil Rights and Equity Committee (CREC) works to enhance diversity within the Local, the Union, and in the workplace, to foster education and mutual acceptance of the varying backgrounds, skills, and concerns of CWA membership, and to ensure compliance with the CWA National equity policy.
Community Services Committee
The Community Services Committee identifies charitable and community services causes, projects, and opportunities for the Local and its members to make a positive difference. This Committee will direct the charitable work of the Local and build connections with the communities where our members live and work.
Education Committee
The Education Committee promotes the educational programs and opportunities within Local 1036. Examples of the Committee's focus include developing and promoting training for shop stewards, promoting both internal and external scholarship opportunities for members and their children, and doing educational outreach to the public about our members, our union, and the public services our members provide.
Legislative-Political Action Committee
The Legislative-Political Action Committee is a member-driven committee that reviews and recommends endorsement of candidates for elected office, helps directs Local 1036's political campaign support, and works in every aspect of the Local's political and legislative program.Membership Committee
Women's Committee
The Women's Committee advances women's issues within the local and the labor movement in general.
VeteransCommittee
The Veterans Committee will advocate for issues affecting union member veterans, and the issues where union interests and veterans' interests intersect.
